Modern Man

Modern society live in a fantasy world of computer games, moving pictures, and social media. The idioms of the language and allusions are taken from popular culture in these media. They do not live in reality. They mistake social media and moving pictures for reality. If Marx was alive today he would said that this is the masses's opiate. Modern Man is saturated with chemicals. Its side effects some known but most unknown. Some in the form of colouring, preservative, flavouring, or sweetener. Others in the form of medicines and cleaning agents. Everything is artificial and synthetic, from the food to the light. Who knows what effects there are on our development, our minds, our hormones, our behaviour, and our well-being. Modern Man mistakes snark and sarcasm for wisdom, wealth and pleasure for accomplishment, hedonism for success, and consensus for righteousness. Many do not hold an original thought or have an doubt or skepticism as they appeal to authority and appeal to the majority. Modern Man does not seek the Truth or Righteousness, he only seeks his own selfish desires and satisfactions. Yet he seeks moral authority and to be called virtuous but being too lazy to sacrifice, he thens merely signal it.
